Bio:
Drew was born and raised in North and Northeast Portland. Drew had a unique pathway through the education system. As a product of a Portland Public School student, Drew was pushed out of high school and ended up at Open Meadow High School. At Open Meadow, Drew first found his confidence in school and it was because of the caring adults in the building. Drew’s early struggles paired with the struggles of his peers, community, and family, are what drives him to work with young people.

Drew started his career in schools at Roosevelt High School in 2009 and since has worked in a variety of roles within PPS, Multnomah County, and local education non-profits. He comes from a social work background and has a deep belief everyone deserves to be seen, heard and feel joy.

Drew takes a lot of pride in his culture. As a biracial Latino man, he leans heavily on the knowledge, wisdom, and strength he derives from his culture. In his his spare time Drew loves spending time with his family, especially his wife and two kids. Drew also LOVES sports. Talking sports, playing sports, and watching sports.
