Central Catholic no longer uses the High School Placement Test as part of the admissions process. Pertinent information gathered from the applicant's school (recommendations and records - including middle school grades, standardized test scores, attendance, discipline records, etc.), along with a family interview, provide ample information for the Admissions Committee to evaluate. Central Catholic's mission and commitment to educate students from diverse backgrounds ensures that admission to our school is premised on our ability to serve the academic, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of the student.
All incoming 9th grade applicants are required to submit a writing sample as part of their English placement at Central Catholic. You are welcome to select one of four possible dates and times to complete this requirement - December 1, 5, 7 or 8 at 4:30pm.
IF YOU ARE TAKING THE High School Placement Test AT ANOTHER LOCAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, you do not need to register for a session at Central Catholic. A writing assessment is part of the HSPT at that school. Remember to request that your sample be sent to Central Catholic upon completion of the test. Once we receive it from another school, we will check it off your checklist.
For those who register to take the writing sample at Central Catholic, a Zoom link will be sent the morning of your registered date.
