Week of Giving
For more than 25 years, Central Catholic has rallied together during Week of Giving to support members of the community who are struggling during the Christmas season. This work has never been more urgent.
In 2025, the Portland Metropolitan area saw a 61% increase in houselessness. The rising cost of food and housing makes it harder for individuals and families to get the food they need in Oregon, Southwest Washington and across the country. 1 in 8 people—and 1 in 6 kids—in Oregon and Southwest Washington face food insecurity. In 2024, the Oregon Food Bank reported a 31% increase in their food assistance visits from the previous year, totaling 2.5 million visits. Behind all these number, is just a family trying to survive winter.
