Central Catholic Presents: You Can't Take It With You
The Central Catholic Drama Department is excited to announce this year's Fall Play, You Can't Take It With You by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart!
Winner of the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this beloved comedy follows the delightfully eccentric Sycamore family, whose unconventional lifestyle is turned upside down when their daughter Alice becomes engaged to Tony Kirby, the son of a wealthy and proper family. As the two families come together for dinner, hilarity ensues in a heartwarming story that celebrates love, individuality, and the joy of being yourself.

- Alice Sycamore - The practical daughter of the eccentric Sycamore family
- Tony Kirby - Alice's kind-hearted fiancé from a wealthy, traditional family
- Martin "Grandpa" Vanderhof - The lovable, free-spirited patriarch who lives life on his own terms

- Anthony and Miriam Kirby - Tony's sophisticated parents whose visit to the Sycamore home doesn't go quite as planned
- Rheba, Donald, Mr. De Pinna, Wilbur Henderson, Gay Wellington, The Grand Duchess Olga Katrina, and several additional supporting roles that help bring this hilarious world to life.
Audition Information
Day One: Monday, September 14 | 3:00-6:00 p.m. | Performing Arts Center
- Group welcome and warm-up
- Individual monologue auditions
- Cold reads from the script
Please arrive by 3:00 p.m. and plan to stay for the entire audition. Students are encouraged to prepare one of the provided monologues (memorization is encouraged but not required).
Day Two, Callbacks by Invitation Only: Tuesday, September 15 | 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Students selected for callbacks will be notified by 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Please remember that not receiving a callback does not mean you are no longer being considered for the production. Callbacks allow the director to gather additional information before making final casting decisions.
