Character Connection Events

Our Character Connections events are designed for middle school students (6th-8th) and their families to connect with our community and envision how you belong at Central Catholic High School.

These immersion events cover a variety of topics that reflect our school's mission and values. Events are open (for no cost!)  to students from all local middle schools (public and private).

Character Connection Events

Band Night!

We look forward to welcoming students from across our Catholic schools (as well as other partner school) to experience what it means to be a member of the Ramily at a special Character Connection event – all grade and middle school students are welcome with concessions, raffles, the opportunity to play with our Pep Band throughout the game. Please be sure to indicate your instrument on the registration form

Date: Friday, January 31, 2025

Schedule:

5:00 P.M. Arrive & Warm Up/Practice in Music Room

5:30 P.M Get set in Missy Mack Gym

6:00 P.M. Perform during Women's Varsity Basketball (with halftime break for concessions)

7:10 P.M. Pizza Dinner

7:30 P.M. Men's Varsity Basketball Game (stay and cheer)

Where: Central Catholic High School Gyms (enter through doors on SE 24th)

Cost: Free (dinner and game ticket included)

If your student is not involved with MUSE, please email Music Director Chris McLean '94 to obtain the sheet music. You must register in advance in order for your student to participate in the Pep Band and pizza dinner. Thank you.

Coming Up: STEM Fair
We are thrilled to invite you to our Middle School STEM Fair, an exciting day dedicated to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics! This immersive event is designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and inspire the next generation of innovators. Middle school participants will spend time in our science classrooms and will have the chance to explore hands-on activities, interactive labs, and engaging workshops, all while connecting with our students and STEM-focused departments. 
 
The theme of this year's event is Climate Education and Justice and both days (pick one) will feature Mark Windschitl, Professor at the University of Washington and author of Teaching Climate Change: Fostering Understanding, Resilience, and a Commitment to Justice.
 
STEM Fair is offered on two days to accommodate whole class attendance; students need only attend one. If you are currently a student at a Catholic partner school, please check with your/your student's teacher to see if they plan to attend.
 
Dates (Pick One): Monday, February 3 or Tuesday, February 4
Time: 9:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M.
Cost: Free
Location: Central Catholic High School
 

Please bring a sack lunch. 

Individual student participants: family members should plan to drop their student(s) off in the morning at the main entrance and return at 2:00 P.M. for pick-up. 

Event Closed: Art Fest

Join us for Central Catholic’s annual celebration of the arts: Art Fest! This event will showcase the array of arts offered at Central Catholic! You will have the opportunity to attend workshops hosted by students and teachers, meet other aspiring artists, and experience all that Central Catholic has to offer.

If you are interested in or are passionate about theater, music, ceramics, painting, drawing, photography and more, then you don’t want to miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in Central Catholic’s arts programs! The event is opened to middle school students at any skill level.

This is a drop off event; families are invited for the last 20 minutes.
Three students at the fall 2023 Ruby Bridges Walk.

Please join us for a day of faith, reflection, and action rooted in Catholic Social Teaching. This walk is inspired by the Ruby Bridges Walk we hosted last year. While you can attend this walk individually, we encourage you to attend this event with your entire class. As a group we will walk through the Laurelhurst neighborhood and end at Central Catholic High School for a community celebration. Throughout the walking route, students will have the opportunity to reflect, learn, and grow in their faith journey. If you are currently a student at a Catholic partner school, please check with your/your student's teacher to see if they plan to attend.

Math Fest 2023 Group Shot

Math Fest is an opportunity for middle school students to explore math in new and exciting ways, bringing numbers and problem solving skills to life! This is a team-based event so we encourage you to sign-up with a few friends from your school and/or community. No team? No problem! You can still sign up and we will place you in with a small group of other middle school students. All eighth grade students who participate have a chance to earn a scholarship to attend Central Catholic!

Event Closed: Middle School Leadership Summit
Join us for our annual Middle School Leadership Summit! Participants will attend workshops hosted by Central Catholic Character in Leadership Scholars and they will have the chance to learn more about our leadership programs and offerings. The Leadership Summit offers a unique opportunity for students interested in leadership to come together to enhance their skills, expand their knowledge, and build their networks. Middle schoolers who attend can expect engaging activities, meaningful conversations, inspiring moments, and character development.
 
This Summit is offered on two nights to accommodate busy schedules; students need only attend one.
 
Dates (Pick One): Tuesday, December 3 and Wednesday, December 4, 2024
Time: 4:00-7:00 P.M.
Cost: Free; Dinner Provided

We look forward to welcoming students from across our Catholic schools (as well as other partner school) to experience what it means to be a member of the Ramily at a special Character Connection event – all grade and middle school students are welcome with concessions, raffles, the opportunity to meet coaches from our Women’s basketball teams.
