Finals Week

Academic Culmination Week ("Finals Week") Winter 2026

Tuesday, January 20 through Friday, January 23, 2026 (see full schedule below)

All classes will participate in a culminating, meaningful, and rigorous experience during the week. This will be an assessment, presentation, a final project, a written piece, or a semester reflection activity or assignment. The only exempt classes are: Zero Period (they already meet additional hours during the semester), teaching assistant periods, and/or Study Hall. 

Junior and Senior level classes may have a cumulative final of some kind that integrates learning from the whole semester, but this is not required and may not exceed 20% of the final grade.  Freshman and Sophomores may have some cumulative elements to their assessment, but the assessment cannot be worth any more than other unit assessments throughout the semester.

Teachers will connect with students who qualify and want to use their extended testing accommodations in advance of Academic Culmination Week to ensure they have access to extended testing. The accommodated (extended) testing times are in the detailed schedule below.

Should inclement weather occur during that week, we will communicate changes via text, email, our website, and social media. Likewise, if a student is absent for their final, they must make arrangements with their teachers to complete the work by Friday, January 23 , at noon (should the situation be more extreme, extensions may be granted and students should include their teacher, counselor, and Mr. Mordhorst in communications).
