Counseling
Central Catholic's counseling team supports the social/emotional, and academic well being of all Central Catholic students.
The mission of the Central Catholic High School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, data-driven, culturally responsive program that inspires and encourages students to become the best version of themselves.
Our Role
School Counselors support the social/emotional, and academic well being of all Central Catholic students. We partner with Career College and Life to help students identify and execute future plans based on best fit for the individual goals of the student. Counselors meet with students one-on-one, in small groups, and in larger group/class presentation settings.
- All students meet with their counselor at least twice per year.
- Counselors are available to meet before school, after school, and at lunch. Students can also make an appointment with their counselor.
- Counselors create programming such as small groups, presentations, and guest speakers based on results of yearly student needs assessment.
- Remaining with the same counselor all four years, counselors create personal relationships with students.
- Counselors meet with all 9th graders within the first three weeks of school.
Confidentiality
Oregon State Law (Oregon Revised Statutes 419B.005-419B.45) requires the counseling department and all school personnel to report specific incidents. Examples, as provided by Oregon State Law are:

- Reporting to one or more specific persons or agencies after a written release of information form has been signed by the student and parent and kept on file;
- Disclosing information deemed to be confidential when ordered to do so by a court of law.
