2023-2024 AP Exam Schedule AP Exam Cancellation Form

The 2024 AP Exam schedule is below. All exams will be administered at Central Catholic High School. Plan ahead to make sure that you arrive early enough to have time to park and walk and still arrive at the exam room 15 minutes early. Students cannot be admitted after the exam start time, and will lose their full exam fee.

The College Board will use the email address they have on file to contact you with further information and to let you know when your AP scores are released.

What to bring to your AP exam:

  • Several sharpened No. 2 pencils (with erasers) for all responses on your multiple-choice answer sheet (do not bring mechanical pencils).

  • Pens with black or dark-blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams.

  • Your student body ID lanyard.

  • A watch (optional) that does not have internet access, does not beep or make noise, and does not have an alarm. Leave your smart watch at home, please.

  • An approved calculator (bring backup batteries in case!) with the necessary capabilities only if you are taking a Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, or Statistics Exam. For a list of approved graphing calculators, visit www.collegeboard.org/ap/calculators.

  • A ruler or straightedge only if you are taking an AP Physics Exam.

  • A light snack (accessible during the break only)

  • A closable water bottle.

  • Dress in layers for the exam. Some of the testing locations may be colder or warmer than you’d like, and you’ll be sitting there for several hours.

Get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast before your exam!

What to leave at home

  • Electronic equipment: (cell phone, smart phone, laptop, tablet computer, etc.), portable listening or recording devices (MP3 player, iPod, etc.), cameras or other photographic equipment, smart watches, wi-fi enabled devices, devices that can access the Internet, and any other electronic or communication devices

  • Unapproved aids: Books, compasses, protractors, mechanical pencils, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, notes, or colored pencils, reference guides, keyboard maps or other typing instructions, and clothing with subject-related information.

  • Scratch paper

  • Watches that beep or have an alarm, or smartwatches.

  • Ear plugs

  • Backpacks create clutter. When possible, please carry what you need to the exam and leave your backpack in your car or locker.

A student observed with prohibited items during testing or breaks may be dismissed from the exam, the device may be confiscated, the student’s score may be canceled, and no retest may be permitted.

Cell phones can be turned in to the proctor at the beginning of each exam. Make sure that your phone is powered down, not just on standy-by or silent, since a cell phone that goes off, or makes a notification in any way, will immediately cancel your exam. Cell phones also may not be used during the break.

Restroom Policy

Students are allowed to go to the restroom one at a time (regardless of gender) throughout the exam and including the break during the exam. Students must otherwise stay in the room. You may go during the exam, but the timing of the test will continue and you will not be able to make-up any missed time. Students will still only be able to use the restroom one at a time during the break, so therefore, please plan to go before the exam begins.

Students with Extended Time or Special Accommodations

Students with documented special accommodations through the College Board (extended time, etc.) will take their exams in a different location but will keep the same date and time. These students will receive an email with their schedule and location(s).

Monday May 6th and Wednesday May 15th

There are AP exams scheduled on two days when Central Catholic does not have school in session: May 6th (US Gov and Chemistry) and 15th (French and Computer Science). To be clear, the College Board determines the date and time of each exam, so AP exams are held on those dates regardless of school schedule. We will hold AP exams on those dates, and students wishing to take those exams must plan to be at CC on those dates, even though our calendar shows “No School.”

What if you cannot test on the exam day?

In rare cases, it may be necessary to move your exam to a later date. Scheduled athletic competitions, verified sickness, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances may keep you from testing on the day of the exam. If this is the case, you must contact me as soon as possible to schedule your make-up exam during the “Late Testing” administration. Any student that does not show up for a test on exam day, and does not contact me, is assumed to not want to take the exam, and will forfeit their full exam fee. A make-up exam (during Late Testing) will not be ordered for students absent from an exam unless they have requested it prior to the exam. Please note that many non-school sanctioned reasons for ordering a late exam will incur a $40 late fee.

If you wish to no longer take an AP Exam, you must fill out and return the AP Exam Cancellation Form by April 26th in order to not be charged the remaining exam fee.

Students taking any exam do not have to attend classes before or after the exam on the day of the exam (but you may if you wish). Taking an AP Exam counts as attending a full school day and you are still eligible to participate in after-school activities. Attendance is taken at exams, so if you were registered for an exam, but decide not to take it, you must report to school for your regularly scheduled classes.

Procedure to request late exams due to school athletic events:

Please follow the instructions in this document if you are competing in an athletic competition that directly conflicts with an exam you are registered to take.
