The Central Catholic High School English curriculum is rooted in the study of literature and composition. Its objectives are to cultivate critical thinking, improve written and oral expression, and develop students’ creative, moral, spiritual, and intellectual potential.

Placement for Honors English I: All Central Catholic Freshmen spend their first term of English in same section, building a solid foundation for learning and growth. A select group of freshmen will progress to Honors English I: Literature Focus, a more rigorous and in-depth course, second semester. Information is provided to students and families in November.
