Swim Team Finds Success with New Coach
The Central Catholic Swim team has started the new year with a recent surge of success! Both the girls and boys had strong wins against Reynolds and the girls team cruised past Centennial with the boys team falling short by only 7 points, a margin the team is confident can be overcome in the District Meet. Our head coach, Lauren Nelson, had this to say:

We are moving into the second half of our season and I'm so happy with our progress so far! We have close to 40 swimmers representing Central Catholic and we have competed against Oregon City, Clackamas, Reynolds and Centennial High School. We have upcoming meets against Gresham, David Douglas, and Sam Barlow. I challenged each of the swimmers to try a different event each meet and everyone has succeeded in scoring varsity points for the team! Some of our consistent top performers have included: freshmen Ainslee Smith and Anna Yotsuuye on the girl's team and freshman Dantez Hernandez and junior Peyton Symes on the boy's team. Sophomore Kevin Keil and Junior Spencer Adrian are undefeated in individual events. Junior Alex Hatzikos is in the MHC top 5 in the 500 Freestyle and looking to improve his time before the district swim meet. Freshman Kate Bloom swam the 500 free for the first time and did so well, we had her swim it again a week later! Overall, we are continually impressed by the sense of community this team shows and are building momentum as we near the district and state championship meets. We appreciate the support of the Central Catholic parents and fans and encourage everyone to attend our last four meets! Go Rams!
