Central Catholic Celebrates the Class of 2026 and Honors Outstanding Graduates and Faculty

Commencement on Monday, June 8 marked the culmination of four years of learning, leadership, faith, and service as we celebrated the Class of 2026. Alongside the conferring of diplomas, several students and one faculty/staff member were recognized for exemplifying the values that define our community through their academic achievement, servant leadership, commitment to others, and dedication to the school's mission.

Outstanding Academic Achievement
The Class of 2026's highest academic honors were awarded to Valedictorian Oliver Leger and Salutatorian Liam Casey, whose exceptional scholarship, perseverance, and commitment to excellence distinguished them throughout their time at Central Catholic.
 
Sr. Maureen Kalsch Award for Educational Excellence
Presented annually to a faculty or staff member nominated by their peers, the Sr. Maureen Kalsch Award for Educational Excellence recognizes an individual whose dedication, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting impact on the Central Catholic community. Faculty member and head coach Charlie Landgraf received this year's honor for exemplifying servant leadership and an unwavering commitment to students and colleagues alike.
 
Seat of Wisdom Award
The Seat of Wisdom Award recognizes graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement throughout all four years of high school. This year's recipients are:

  • Oliver Leger
  • Ella Schellinkhout
Scholar Athletes of the Year
Balancing excellence in both the classroom and athletic competition, Liam Casey and Lauren Baranski were recognized as the Scholar Athletes of the Year for the Class of 2026.
 
Archbishop Edward D. Howard Christian Service Award
Awarded to students whose lives reflect an enduring commitment to Christian service, compassion, and social justice, this year's recipients of the Archbishop Edward D. Howard Christian Service Award are Theo Bradford and Haley Johnson.
 
Insignis Award
One of Central Catholic's highest student honors, the Insignis Award celebrates graduates who have consistently embodied the school's mission through faith, leadership, service, and involvement in the life of the community.
This year's recipients include:

  • Eldonna Goytom
  • Emma Lombard
  • Brooklyn Mercie
Christ the King Award
The Christ the King Award honors graduates who have demonstrated outstanding Catholic leadership through their witness of faith, humility, and service in both the school and their parish communities.
This year's recipients are Maria Armen-Nichter and Melissa Vargas-Renteria.
 
Holy Spirit Award
Recognizing students whose leadership is rooted in courage, compassion, and faith, the Holy Spirit Award was presented to Aleeyah Coleman and Conal Devine.

As the Class of 2026 begins its next chapter, these award recipients represent the many ways Rams leave their mark on the Central Catholic community. Whether through scholarship, leadership, athletic achievement, service, or faith, they have helped shape a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. Congratulations to all of this year's honorees and to the entire Class of 2026.
