Coach Rick Lorenz Hits 1,300 Career Wins

Volleyball coach Rick Lorenz began his coaching career more than 40 years ago at St. Mary’s Academy. Never coaching volleyball before, he didn’t expect much but walked away that year with his first state championship. Now he has tallied a match record of 1,300 wins.

Rick has won 11 state championships and also taken second place 12 times. Rick attributes the continued success of the Central Catholic volleyball program to his dedicated staff. He says, “no one coach can do it alone. My staff’s expertise and camaraderie have helped me continue coaching for as many years as I have.”

As a Volleyball coach, Rick currently has the most career wins in Oregon. And he is nationally ranked at 8th.
