Magdalene Higle

Teacher

Bio:
Sister Magdalene was born and raised in Eastern Oregon. She grew up in a Catholic family and enjoyed playing sports throughout her life. For college she moved to Corvallis, Oregon to begin studying Fine Art at Western Oregon University. In these years, she began participating at the Oregon State Newman Center. Through the Newman Center her faith not only became a personal decision but a driving force that touched all areas of her life. After receiving her bachelor's in fine art with a minor in psychology, she spent a year as a volunteer missionary at the OSU Newman Center. This year of deep prayer, intentional community and missionary serving sparked in her an unrest that led her to ask the Lord what it was that He wanted for her future. His response led her to give her first yes to Him and shortly began a formal discernment with the Society of Mary, a religious community dedicated to the New Evangelization. In 2018 she entered the community where she received formation in the United States as well as in Argentina. She now lives and serves at the formation house in West Linn, Oregon. Today her main apostolate is working in High School Ministry and she began teaching at Central Catholic in 2022.
