Bio:
I began teaching in 1984, and I’ve taught a variety of subjects and grades over the years. Almost all of my experience is at the high school level, although I did teach 7th and 8th grade English, reading, art, and wood shop in my first year out of college! My undergraduate degree in English is from the University of Oregon, and my post graduate work was at Portland State University, where I earned teaching certification in Language Arts, Reading, and Library/Media.

I started teaching at Central Catholic in 2014. I love the Central Catholic community because the emphasis is on the other person. We constantly ask, “How can my life and work benefit others?” Likewise, my work as a teacher is for my students. I believe that my role is to create opportunities and conditions for my students to grow in confidence and to grow in their ability to read critically and express themselves.
