Bio:
My love of reading began at a young age with Beverly Cleary's Ramona books. Because of this love, I originally studied to teach young children how to read, but after a study abroad experience at Oak Hill College in London, England, where I was able to visit the reconstructed Globe Theatre, the moors that inspired the Bronte sisters, and the pub in Oxford where C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien would meet with other literary friends, I immediately changed majors so I could teach English at the secondary level. I love sharing classic literature with students while pairing such tomes with pop culture elements, creative writing, and current events. I also strive to teach through a social justice lens as an extension of my faith.
