SCHOOL CLOSURE

Central Catholic will announce school closures due to inclement weather through the media

(TV, radio, internet) via FlashNews.net. We will try to make all school closure announcements

by 5:30 a.m. Closures will be listed under Central Catholic specifically. We do not follow

Portland Public Schools or other Catholic schools. You can also self-register to receive an

e-mail or text message notification of school closures at FlashAlert.net. To register, go to

FlashAlert.net. On the map click on the dot for Portland, then click on Private & Charter

Schools – Portland area, and then click on Central Catholic and enter your e-mail address.

 Subscribe here to register your email address and cell phone numbers to receive school closure alerts via text messaging. There is no cost to the public for viewing the information or subscribing to messages.

• When subscribing, go to ADD ORGANIZATION and look for PORTLAND/VANC/SALEM. Then select PRIVATE & CHARTER SCHOOLS - PORTLAND AREA.

Inclement weather or other unplanned schedule changes may be posted in several ways.

• Tune in to the local television and/or radio stations for up-to-date information and listen for specific Central Catholic information.  Please Note - Central Catholic DOES NOT follow Portland Public Schools closure schedules.

• Call the Main Office at 503-235-3138 for updates.

• A message will be posted on the Home Page of our web site as soon as a decision has been reached and as soon as possible. 

In the event we have a late start due to hazardous weather conditions, we will use the following bell schedules:

Inclement Weather Schedule

10:00 AM Late Start

Cardinal Schedule:

1st period – 10:00 -11:002nd period – 11:05 -12:00

Lunch - 12:00 -12:35                          

3rd period – 12:35 -1:30

4th period – 1:35 -2:30

Gold Schedule:

5th period – 10:00 -11:20

Lunch – 11:20 -12:00

6th period – 12:00 -1:10                     

7th period - 1:20 - 2:30

If the Gold schedule has a Liturgy, Rep period(s), meeting or assembly scheduled, it will be cancelled and recalendared for a later date.
