Freshman Scholarship Program

All incoming freshmen at Central Catholic are eligible to apply for scholarships. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of various criteria including, but not limited to, the following: academic excellence, community involvement/service, character, demonstrated dedication to one's parish and/or school, and financial need.

In awarding these scholarships, it is the intent of Central Catholic to recognize those students who have committed themselves to excellence in the classroom, in extracurricular activities, and in their community, whether that community is their school, parish, or city.

Application Opens: October 1, 2023
Application Closes: January 12, 2024

Process For Applying:

Students may apply for scholarships that are awarded based solely on merit, and/or scholarships that have a need-based component to them. Most scholarships have a need-based component. Incoming 9th graders at Central Catholic who wish to apply for scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year must be regular applicants for the freshman class and must do the following:

  1. Complete the Scholarship Application, including the essay, by January 12, 2024. Please note that the essay must be the work of the student. While parents are encouraged to proofread the essay, the writing and ideas presented should reflect the ability and thoughts of the student.

  2. The final step in this process is to request a recommendation from your principal or counselor. Please copy and paste this link to share with them: https://bit.ly/Recommendation24-25. Please have them fill out and submit the form by January 31, 2024.
Please be aware that materials in the student's regular application file (including, but not limited to: standardized test scores, middle school grades, and behavior/conduct marks) will serve as part of the basis for evaluation in the scholarship application process. Also, please note, that the merit scholarship application process is separate from the need-based financial-aid process. Families may apply for both merit scholarships and need-based tuition-assistance awards.
