“Looking forward to getting together with former classmates at 50th reunion, telling a few stories, some true others stretched a bit perhaps. I retired in 2002 from Lewis & Clark College as the Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Development Director. Married for 42 years to Carol, who strongly suggested I should keep busy and that 24-7 might be too much bonding time. Would you not agree that she, perhaps, has a strange way of sharing her love after all these years? With that in mind I am now President of Northwest Star Productions Academy. The Production part of the company keeps me busy coordinating golf tournaments around the region and a few others throughout the country. The Academy is my giveback to sports, baseball specifically in various sponsorship activities throughout the year. Central Catholic holds a special place in the process and lifetime journey of positive experiences in my life. The opportunity to develop that necessary confidence; the development of self esteem and a positive attitude towards the many challenges we all face in life was, and is, a reflection on the outstanding Christian education I received at Central Catholic. Keep up the great job you all do in providing students quality educational learning experiences utilizing the traditions of the past in the overall mission. Please extend greetings to my good friend Fr. Tim Murphy who truly has participated in that 50yr+ celebration of the ongoing Central Catholic education.”

Philip Gartner Marlowe ’54 wrote: “Hard to put 52 years of seven careers into a few words, so I’ll wing it. As fate would have it after many trails and lots of educational pursuits, I wound up in the U.S. Army as a young shave-tail and an odyssey was born. Helping others – teammates and fellow world travelers - throughout a world of formative and challenging situations. Managing the care of a sick parent, marriage, deaths and raising two girls put the spotlight of responsibility on me very early. I fervently thank a number of my teachers at Central for the courage and fortitude in mastering these goals – namely Reverend Joseph Neuville, my mentor and friend. Lasting friendships and nostalgic draws always brought me back to the old brick school house. Times shared, and sometimes, hard lessons learned. I could not have been so fortunate in life without the blessings bestowed by so valorous a group of priests and sisters. Rams Rule!”
