Ceramics
Two levels of Ceramics courses are offered at Central Catholic. Students will explore throwing on the potter’s wheel, hand building in clay, and introduction to sculpture. Throughout the courses, students will choose themes to explore. Public exhibition of work is encouraged.
Printmaking
A Printmaking course is offered in which students are presented with three basic printing art forms: Linoleum Block, Safety-Kut, and Silk Screen. Students will develop and transfer images to particular media surfaces and learn to use the tools and inks necessary to produce multiple aesthetic prints.
Photography
Several levels and types of Photography instruction are offered, starting with a comprehensive beginning level class where students are introduced to elements and principles of design and build skills using 35mm developing and printing in black and white.
Advanced levels take the students further in the exploration of the medium - adding color and including Photojournalism, Landscape and Portraits. The lessons in basic design and fundamentals are encouraged prior to venturing into the modern world of digital images and editing.

Stained Glass
Stained Glass courses are offered to introduce students to the elements of design, execution, and principles of the copper coil technique. Students will learn and develop the skills of cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, leading and applying patina. A strong emphasis is placed on design and originality. Public exhibition of completed work is recommended and encouraged.
2 Dimensional Visual Arts (Drawing)
Four levels of Art classes are offered at Central Catholic. Beginning classes explore basic art principles, methods, and media. Media will include tempera, watercolor, pen and ink, pastels, acrylics and mixed media. In the advanced classes, students will work more independently to produce extensive and varied projects for each grading period. An emphasis will be on public displays of students’ work and portfolio development.
