VOLLEYBALL COACHING STAFF
Rick Lorenz - Head Varsity Coach 
Rick begins his 32nd year as a varsity volleyball coach. Over these many years, 11 at St. Mary's Academy, one at Lake Oswego and 18 at CC, Rick has amassed an impressive record. He has coached his teams to 14 championship title games. He has won 7 state titles and finished second 8 times. The last three years the Lady "Rams" have finished second at state and continue to be in the hunt for the 'gold'. His oldest son, Jamie, is attending MH CC and Luke, his second son, is a junior at Central Catholic. Rick continues to be an avid collector of baseball and golf cards and related memorabilia. He is also a gifted artist in stained glass and pottery.

Julie Taylor - Varsity Assistant 
Julie begins her 11th season with the Lady "Rams". She also coaches year round with the Rose City Volleyball Club with the 14's. Julie played both volleyball and softball in high school and in college. She is a very busy lady, working with her husband to raise their three children, two boys and a young daughter. She has learned to balance her family life with her coaching. She brings a positive, balanced perspective to the gym to match Rick's competitive edge and humor. They make a strong team to motivate the young women.
Malcolm Doi - JV Coach
The 2006 season wil mark Malcolm’s 29thseason coaching volleyball; guess one could call him the guru of v-ball. Over these many years he has coached all levels and all ages, including working four years at St. Mary's Academy. He is a master of technique and has the ability to observe and then hone the fine points of each player’s game. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the game and his job at Central is to develop and improve the technical skills of the JV players. As an avid collector of clocks, we know he gets things done in a timely fashion!
Karin Jacobs - JV Assistant Coach
Karin returns to Central Catholic after an absence of 18 years. She is an '89 graduate if Central Catholic and attended Taft College in California on a volleyball and softball scholarship from 1989 to 1990 and then transferred to Portland State University softball from 1991 to 1994. Karin has spent the last 8 years living in Southern California, but now returns to help with the volleyball program. She is most proud of her 10 year old son, Jackson and 5 year old daughter, Grace.
Joe Rivelli - JVII Coach 
Joe is nother veteran to the CC volleyball program. This year will be his 19th year with the Rams. Joe is a vital part of the staff that helps to develop the younger players at the JVII level. Prior to coaching at CC, Joe worked many years with the CYO 7th and 8th grade programs. His two daughters, Michelle and Andrea, both played for the Rams and went on to play at the college level. In his free time Joe plays golf as often as possible, hoping to one day make the PGA tour - keep practicing Joe!
