2008 RAM Volleyball Camp

for Grades 5 and 6

Logistics

  • Camp will be held at Central Catholic High School 2401 SE Stark.
  • Monday August 4 through Thursday August 7   11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Enrollment is limited to 54 athletes.

Camp Staff

Rick Lorenz- Head Coach at Central Catholic High School, 32 years experience as a varsity head coach, 29 years experience as clinic director, and head administrator for Rose City Volleyball Club (USVBA). His teams have won 7 state titles, 8 second place and 6 third place finishes. His 1997 and 2000 CC teams were the 4A state champions.

Malcolm Doi- 30 years experience as a Varsity and JV volleyball coach. Currently 14's coach and coordinator at Rose City. Malcolm is an excellent technician and educator. His 2006 JV team went 39-0. He is the wizard of innovation and technical training.

Joe Rivelli- JV coach at CC the past 10 years. He was Frosh coach for 10 years. Excellent won-lost record. Has coached 14's for Rose City the past  15 years as well. Before moving to the high school level, Joe coached CYO for 6 years. He currently coaches the Rose City 12's team which was regional champions in 2005 and 2006.

Julie Taylor- Former high school and community college All Star player. Has been the varsity assistant at CC the last 12 years and Rose City 14's and 16's club coach the last 12 years as well. Excellent technician and competitor.

Camp Description

  • Designed specifically to show the experienced and motivated 5th and 6th grade athlete what the high school frosh and JV level is like.

  • Intense, up-tempo  instruction in serving, passing, blocking, hitting, digging and defensive techniques.

  • Individual volleyball movement patterns analyzed daily

  • The psychology of competing, winning and reaching your potential is stressed  through philosophies from the coaching staff.

  • Video tape skill analysis

  • 8-to-1 player-coach ratio

  • One of the most experienced coaching staffs, with a winning formula that is unparalleled

  • 16 hours of instruction which include daily scrimmage sessions

  • A volleyball tank top will be given to all camp participants. Camp awards will be given out at weeks end.

Registration and Fees

The cost of the camp is $125.  Please click on the link below, fill out the registration form, and mail it to Central Catholic High School , c/o Rick Lorenz, 2401 SE Stark St., Portland, OR 97214. Your cancelled check is confirmation that you are registered and in the camp.
