GIRLS SOCCER

A Message from the Coach Warnell

The Central Catholic girl's soccer program has enjoyed great success in the past. Not only has the team made it to the post season playoffs 19 out of the last 20 years years, it has also represented Central Catholic in a positive manner. One of the things that makes me proudest is when opposing coaches and players tell me how much they enjoy playing Central Catholic.

2007 Schedule & Results

We are known throughout the state of Oregon as a highly competitive team that always displays great sportsmanship and class.

Everyone involved in the program (players, coaches, parents and fans) can be proud of both our competitive record and our reputation as a quality program. The quality of our program and our excellent reputation extend throughout all four of our teams (Varsity, JV, JV II Gold and JVII Cardinal).

Looking forward to this fall, we will again be competitive at all levels.  I expect that all four of our teams will represent the school with class, and will finish the season with winning records. Our Varsity team should once again be a strong contender during the State Playoffs.

2007 Mt. Hood Conference Champions

Showdown

Each year, the Mt. Hood Conference Championship seems to come down to dual between our Rams and sister Catholic high school St. Mary's.  This year was no exception.

Central Catholic played host to the Blues on a sunny, fall afternoon [October 25th] and it was a game that lived up to the hype.  The Rams struck first and early, with Ashley Walsh '08 finishing strong and firing the home crowd up.  The score went to 2-0 late in the half on a header goal by Casey Lutgens '09.

St. Mary's challenged on counter-attacks throughout the game, yet earned only respect for their competitiveness.  Both defenses tightened up and, despite many challenges the game finished

2-0 and the Rams took back the Conference Title lost in this very game a year ago.*

A great finish to the regular season for Central Catholic Seniors on a day meant to honor them.  Well done, seniors:

*The Rams also earned a bye in the first round of the OSAA 6A Playoffs with the title and will face a second-round opponent on Tuesday, Nov. 6th - at Barlow H.S. at 7:00PM.
